Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana wants a second sign at its Chestnut Hill location. Newton's Development Review Team (DRT) will consider the request Wednesday, Sept. 2.
The coal-fired pizza restaurant at 199 Boylston Street is seeking an amendment to its existing special permit to add the sign, according to the city's DRT Snapshot. The property sits in a Business Use 1 zoning district in Ward 7.
The request has prior history at city hall. The Mall at Chestnut Hill, which filed the original petition, asked Newton's Land Use Committee on March 10 for a special permit to install a 202-square-foot internally illuminated sign at the same address. That petition, numbered 102-26, sought relief for an oversized secondary sign under Newton's zoning ordinance. The outcome of that petition has not been published.
No hearing date beyond the Sept. 2 DRT review has been announced.
