Volleyball: Tigers sweep Framingham

Newton North girls volleyball shook off two losses in its previous three matches with a 3-0 sweep of Framingham (0-6, 0-4) on Tuesday, according to MassLive box scores.

The win pushed the Tigers to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in Bay State-Carey play. Newton North had fallen to Wakefield and Brookline before righting the ship against the Flyers.

The MIAA released its first girls volleyball power rankings of the season on Tuesday, slotting Newton North at No. 5 in Division I. The Tigers reached the Division I state final last season, losing to Franklin in five sets.
